Nice, the TP Bell shop sign is still on the wall here on Carlisle I think. Above a shop selling vintage memorabilia. I'll check

That's a nice sign to see. My brother bought the bike from Rufforth Autojumble last week. Owner was from Stockton on Tees. It runs really well. 50cc 2 stroke engine. No clutch, so you come to a T Junction and stall it, when road clear pedal like mad and away you go!!!

Didn't they have a centrifugal clutch ? The more revs the more grip, so on tickover it should free .

I can remember my dad having one back in the early 60's. The one he had had a centrifugal clutch.
I think it was a different model to this one. It was called a Raleigh Runabout.
Later on i used to ride it around for a bit of fun.

There was the Raleigh Runabout and later a Raleigh Wisp I think . They took over the BSA cycle factory in I think it was Aston . They used a French engine . I think they were very successful and sold quite a lot of them .

Not this model.... This model was the first of its type. The next years model had the clutch.
