Blimmin water leaks.

Had one a couple of months ago when a tap was left on, then found out today the inlet pipe to the loo has started leaking. Big stain on ceiling in lounge. Rushed out and got some joint seal, fixed it, then the ruddy loo wouldn't flush. Checked inside the cistern and the membrane on the flush system had split.

Back out again and upgraded the float and flush to a more modern one where you can adjust flush and it has a dual flush mode, all still using the existing handle.

Whats going to leak next......

We are in the middle of retiling the bathroom. Tiles off two walls but wall with shower still on. We are turning the bath round so that all needs plumbing.

Anyone used the press fit plumbing kit . Plan is to cut off existing copper pipes then extend with the plastic stuff.

Yep, I've used a bit to replace some damaged copper, very easy to fit and has not given me a problrm.

that was us on Easter Saturday. my OH got up still asleep to use the bathroom (around 5 or 6am) and after finishing couldn't work out for the life of him why he could still hear running water and his feet were wet only it was the outlet that was leaking in 3 different places. Sitting room celing came down, stairs covered... and after the 3rd attempt (by a plumber) to fix the leak we established that the inlet was also now leaking as well! place is still drying out and stinks!

yep - there are times when I am really glad I am a tenant!
Still waiting on the sitting room ceiling but at least the leaks have now stopped and most of the smell gone (mostly dust issues brought down with the ceiling, but some erm 'interesting' smells every now and again!) Still could have been worse it is were not for the fact it was only a number 1 he went for... :stop: it was the flushing of the toilet that caused the problem!

As for your next leak - you don't have a shower do you? Our's promptly started leaking soon afterwards... good thing the sitting room ceiling was already down!

The shower is over the bath. Reason we are turning the bath around is the shower is not at the tap end so you can't stand under it.

We may or may not replace the electric shower, not decided. Just picked up the tiles and the small mosaic trim tiles were more costly than the 60 600x300 tiles.
