Leicester locals advice please

Looking for some local advice please. My daughter has been offered a 1 week work internship in July at
Next Retail, Desford Rd, Enderby and I am looking for local advice on which local area would be good to stay in which would be good for either walking or bus routes in (she won't have a car) as I am not familiar with the area

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Is she looking at a hotel or B&B?

Look at Enderby itself, there are decent buses into the city and she is near Fosse Park, plus it's a nice area. If she wants to be closer to the city then the Narborough Road corridor will give thr bus route she needs.

Without any research I thought of the Narborough Arms ,Narborough right near the train station pretty sure the will be a bus service to Enderby about 3 miles away . Narborough / Enderby will be a bus route into Leicester for nights out . But Narborough has eating places I do a bit of research

Found the Aylestone park hotel in Aylestone Leicester . Should be on a bus route to Enderby . @The Velvet Curtain may be better to advise on this as it his side of Leicester

I agree with TVC re Enderby or Narborough Rd.

Also I'm pretty sure Next run a staff bus, so maybe speak to them and see what route it runs on. I've seen it in Cosby. I know someone on Strava who works at Next I will message him and see what he knows.

This site says they still run them from Leicester city centre.

Also wouldn't surprise me if Next don't have a tie up with local hotels at special rates, again probably worth speaking to their HR people.

Aylestone isn't brilliant for getting to Enderby. All the buses (route 50) run down the Narborough Road, which would entail a 20-minute or so walk down Middleton Street / Braunstone Lane East from the area of your hotel.
Far better, if possible, would be somewhere around the northern (city) end of Narborough Road, which is a student area in term time, and has all the various cheap eats, bars etc that go with it, and might be more interesting for a young person to stay in. The number 50 runs every 20 minutes during the day.

A quick search on Leicester in airbnb brings up a number of potential room lets in the area I was talking about. The area names 'Westcotes' 'West End', 'Narborough Road' would be things to look out for.

You'd have thought TVC would've put your kid up, 4F, full board with spending money and given her a lift to and from. Typical inhospitable Leicester nobbers.
