Leicester to Cambridge Route...

Once the weather picks up, on a nice sunny weekend, I'm determined to cycle from Leicester to Cambridge (I have family there).

Any suggestions on a bike route?
Is there a website for doing this sort of route-planning?

www.viamichelin.co.uk - automatic route planning for bikes, but likes main roads
www.mapmyrun.co.uk - uses google maps, and if you use a modern browser and full screen you can get the map to cover the whole screen. Manual planning, though.

My favourite is www.bikehike.co.uk - look at both the OS 1:50000 and the google map at the same time.

I always use viamichelin, but remember to tick the 'by bike' box. A mate of mine went from Leicester to Cambridge to see friends last year, I rode the first 20 miles with him for a bit of company, we went through Kibworth then just to the north of Market Harborough before I turned back through Medbourne.

Hi Maz, just seen your post, we did Leicester to Cambridge and back last July and found a pretty decent route, I'll dig it out or you can come round and I'll show you, either way I'll pm you on Monday.
