My eldest lad Joe and his mate Richard cycled LEJOG this September in 9 days for the charity Clic Sargent which helps children and young people with cancer. They rode the first half unsupported, until I took pity on them from Lancaster onwards. I only intended to help them over Shap summit by carrying their pannier bags, but somehow ended up going the rest of the way with them! I had to buy fresh clothes along the way, and had some explaining to do to the wife! To be honest, it was a privilege to act as support car, as I got to see first hand the monumental effort the lads put in each day. What made it more remarkable to me was my lad doesn't usually get up til the crack of noon!
There's a blog here http://www.lejogcycling.co.uk/ which might be of interest.

Good luck to all who attempt it, you have my admiration!
