Tony, you've just opened a monumental can of worms that I can only tip my hat to you for taking on.

We leave next Wed LEJOG, we decided to go mid April, since then I've picked up all I know from this forum (not that that's alot mind!), lots of very clued up folks on here and more importantly happy to help.

You'll get many different routes offered - really the route is time dependant and how many miles you want to do daily and what type of roads you'd prefer. We're going LE-Okehampton-Bristol-Ludlow-Chorley-Carlisle-Edinburgh-Newtonmore-Tain-JOG, direct over 9 days (lots of people would bemoan this route as they like to miss the main roads but we only have a 9 day window available). Obviously you have the peaks to throw in. Then are you going JOGLE or LEJOG - I've done the 3 peak challenge and we did Ben Nevis last which was a real ba****d, do you want to leave that till the end?

What you propose is a massive challenge, if I can help with any specific advice please private mail me - I found you get good advice if your question is quite specific and not too general, but all the knowledge is here, it's just asking the right questions.

Best of luck.

I did Jogle with the 3 peaks a couple of years back.
Ben Nevis is easy to get to. There will be plenty of B&B's in Fort William or you could camp in the woods like we did. You can leave your bikes at the visitor centre at the base of the climb.
To get to Scarfel is not too bad. There's the A66 form the north and the A591 heading south (not any major hills). We climbed it from the north starting from Seatoller (on the B5289). There is a youth hostel nearby, B&Bs in Keswick or you camp camp on the shore of Derwent water.
Getting to Snowdon is the biggest detour. We went west along the north coast of Wales along the A548 then cut south to Betws-y-Coed along the A470. It's a very flat route. Then we took the A5 out of Wales to Shrewsbury (again, a fairly flat road). There are campsite's and places to stay in Betws-y-Coed and the people at the tourist info let us leave our bags with them when we climbed Snowdon.

Check out my crazyguyonabike journal for more detailed info.

Thanks Robbie, We are doing Le to JoG route due to people telling me the wind slightly favours South to North!. I did the 3 peaks last year & actually enjoyed Ben Nevis( that is sure to come back & haunt me!!!). Good luck on your jaunt next week, I will pm you after you have finished the ride.
Many thanks, Tony

Cheers Tony, mail when you like.

We were going JOGLE initially but as you say the prevailing winds favour LEJOG which altered our plans. Going up Ben Nevis was good, coming down though.......ohhhhh the poor quads!!! Then the drive back to Bournemouth - wow that's along way!
