Cyclemagic is a totally self-financing not-for-profit limited comapny. People travel from across the country to try out machines and for us to build or adapt bikes to their own needs. We do all the disabililty cycling stuff as volunteers and receive no help or grant funding from any of the national cycling organisations.

It currently costs Cyclemagic around £5000 a year to store and service the wide range of bikes we've got and this money comes from the commercial work we do such as roadshows, consultancy etc.

So, we were wondering if people would like to help us raise some funds by doing a relay LE-Jog on one or some of our more unusual machines. And believe me, we have a lot of unusual machines!

Anyone interested?

Sounds like we need some pictures HD!
Couldn't take time off to do a LeJog [though I'd love to- maybe one day] but I'd be happy to sponsor somebody! ...how about 5p per mile?

when you say 'unusual machines' I'm sort of intrigued and sort of frightened. Tall bikes? Wobbly bikes? Four wheel side by side jobs, with the two riders pedalling in unison? Trandems or Quadrandems?

And would the LEJOG be through Leicester (which would make for a great route)?

Oh - Boris Johnson says that the bike was invented in London. Do you want me to put him straight?

Yes, yes, yes, etc, etc although we're happy for people to support or ride with us on normal bikes.

That's the plan and we'll also take in York. Please take note York Posse!

Sigh. I can't think of any significant development made to the bicycle in London so be my guest.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

The Brompton. The first really practical folding bike.

But the Brompton is just another type of bicycle.

Significant developments that have changed bicycle design are few and far between such as the the safety bicycle, chain drive, pneumatic tyre etc.

Count me in if I'm free, and with enough notice I will be, either in the region of York, or Leicester.

Could you fit in a canal section? I'd be happy to pedal Ratty for a day. Or anything that fits me.
