Just thought Id mention a cyclist who passed me here, and it took a while to get passed him on the way to middleham, very impressive cycling. There's been a few out and about over the weekend in my areas and most are shifting.

It wasn't me, although Mrs Rocky and I spend quite a bit of time up in that part of the world. We are the ones averaging 5 mph up from Semer Water to Muker to Thwaite and Buttertubs. I've been mightily impressed with the speed and fitness of some of the bikers round that part of the world.....I can only dream about it these days.
I go through Askrigg often, there's a turn off for Muker there, Ill keep my eyes open:thumbsup:

It's a pretty steep road up and over the top down to Muker but I love the ride down into the village. Similarly having climbed Buttertubs it's a great run down to Simonstone and Hawes. I can't ride it on my road bike these days and need the gears from my MTB to get up the 1:6 and 1:5 hills.
Askrigg bank is a good un, long too.
