Just for you @_aD I had a quick pit stop on the way home and behold...

The traffic actually obscures the madness, but there are three lines and more of those bad boys, all the way up that stretch of road which is about 800m I reckon.

I'll try and get a better shot when it's quieter.

What about the rest of you? Have you got any cone based disasters you'd like to share?

What you haven't realised is that cones are the earth's most intelligent life form, and they're there observing the behaviour of the lower ranked organisms in the picture - humans in cars. (With apologies to Douglas Adams!)

My presumption is that they have to store them somewhere when they don't really need them. That's why you often come across motorway lanes completely coned off for no perceptible reason.

Slightly off topic but there was someone who was on radio 2 a couple of times and his hobby was collecting cones. He had thousands of different types from all over thye world

I found him strangely interesting................

They had a quiz show (possibly the generation game) which had a 'what's my line' segment on it (I don't think it was actually an attempted reboot of what's my line) and the only thing I remember is the guy who sold cones to Saudi Arabia (literally selling sand to the Arabs, as the show put it.).
