Walked over the shop to get a paper and a snack for the afternoon. Wanted a banana but they only had packs of small bananas, fair enough- I need some for the rest of the week too.

But get this, these small bananas were described on the packaging as fun-sized.

Fun-sized? F*** off.

Anyway,

Is everyone having a nice day, weather's nice. Long ride home?

Not me, I've got the insurance man coming around at 7:00. I'll stick on some free jazz or something, then I can get down to the allotment.

I'm having a boring day, no cycling today as my knee is annoying me, got to finish some job applications and send them off, very warm and humid I think, rubbish day, nothing to do...

Oh and maybe the bananas are fun sized cause you can play Frisbees with them!

An essential accessory for your bananas is of course a banana case:

Has anyone tried sun dried bananas?

They're an acquired taste, after a couple you realise they're actually quite horrible.

I love that! It's marketing in all its brazen ridiculousness. It's just like when the supermarkets suddenly cottoned onto the fact that if they took out all the big potatoes and packed them separately, labelled 'baking potatoes', they could charge twice as much for them.

(I suppose they could always try taking out all the really small ones and calling them 'fun-sized potatoes'...but I don't suppose anyone would fall for that one.)

Actually...

If you buy the Sainsburys basics baking potatoes (not all the same size), they are cheaper per kilo than the loose spuds...

Seen in Mexico a few years back - the variety of bananas was much bigger than over here...
Some years ago, I was in the Seychelles and the family we were staying with told me that they have 22 different kinds of banana and 15 different kinds of mango.

I expressed surprise, not knowing that so many kinds existed ;) and our hostess pointed out that, when she went to London, she was amazed to find more than one kind of ........ potato.

Just depends on what you grow, I guess.

India has lots of different bananas, the wee pink ones are yummy !

Eeer - some bad news for you - they weren't bananas. Think back - late night drinking in a bar, those locals telling you they keep bananas in their trousers so they don't get bruised, that "nibble for a bet" drinking game....
