Does anyobody else find it annoying that organisers of sportifs, charity rides etc fail to clean up after the event? I'm talking about all the arrows at junctions that are put up in advance of rides. I've been out today around the Trough of Bowland area and they are everywhere. There was a charity ride last Sunday which I am totally supportive of - I would have gone on it myself but unfortunately had other commitments. But please organisers, if you send people round the day before an event to put the direction arrows up, send them again the day after to take them down! I have seen some stay there until they rot or blow away. Rant over.

Why don't you rant directly at the organiser? You must know how it is if you were considering the event and it will be more effective than ranting here.

Good point Alien8 I may just do that. However, my rant is not just about the current swathe of arrows, it happens on a fairly regular basis around here.

I agree, round our way almost every week there are badly painted banners on railings , roundabouts etc with "Happy Birthday etc" on them, all good and well for the big happy day but a week later they are still there hanging lob sides dragging on the floor , paint all smudged and looking a right mess.

I have stopped several times to cut them down and dispose of them, but what i dont understand is that the birthday boy or girl in question most probably drives past every day, so why not stop and take it down.

I used the arrows to find my way around stage 2 of The Tour of Britain. Pity there weren't any tour riders out enjoying the course.
