By the time I was 6 I was walking to school and back by myself, busy roads included. I can't see how I would have been safer accompanied, and seeing how some parents cross road with their children, some may actually be better off unaccompanied.

shoving your kid out in front is a great way of stopping the traffic though.

I've seen this done a few times and had it done to me on the bike. Prams are good as well.

So, 'Bourne Road' IS dangerous? Alligators? An outbreak of plague? High winds? The road isn't dangerous - its the drivers who create the congestion that create the danger. -Peoples' behaviour- is what's dangerous.

So, will the locals of Paulsgrove, who had a nice little riot about paedophiles a few years ago, consider their own behaviour a greater threat to the well-being of their children (which it is) than an imaginary army of kiddie-fiddlers? Will they f$%k.
