Locked park gates

Currently.commuting from shortlands to grove park. Found short cut through what I think is the otherside of beckenham palace park. The side I enter from seems to constantly open but when I cross the bridge and exit from downham exit sometimes park gates are locked just wondered if at 5.15 pm if this entrance is part if the park and this normal locking up time last night watched family with pushchair have to climb the gate to get out.

I'm not sure where you mean exactly. Is it anywhere near the west-east leg which goes over the river Ravensbourne on this: https://cyclestreets.net/journey/56462548/#balanced ?

A Google search says it closes at 5pm which is about normal for a park at this time of year, usually close around dusk. Of course not all gates will close simultaneously so it's possible to get caught out

Doesn't look any shorter than via Farnaby Road and Avondale Road but I guess it's prettier.
