I'm cycling London-Newhaven-Dieppe-Paris in May. The plan is to follow the Avenue Verte route on the French side, but not bothering with this on the UK side as I'm told it's dreadful.
So, any recommendations for a decent (direct-ish) London to Newhaven route? Will be setting off from Marble Arch, and want to keep it to 65 miles if poss (looks like this should be do-able).
On the French side, the plan is to take it very easy, about 40 miles a day to allow for late starts and leisurely lunches - this is a holiday. :-) Most likely will be four of us - how easy is it to find accommodation on spec? Don't want to carry tents, so looking for B&Bs or campsites with permanent tents/cabins.
Also looking for accommodation recommendations on the outskirts of Paris. Will need somewhere that can provide secure parking for my trike and 3 standard bikes, so somewhere with a garage or similar. Don't mind if it's 10 or so miles outside Paris, and don't really care which side.
