I feel like a moth at the moment, standard lamp bulb went and we seem to have a cupboard full of bayonet fittings, yep, it's a screw in. Lo and behold, nestled at the back of the cupboard were a pair of screw fix bulbs.......150w.......my god, I knew things were a little dimmer with the 60w offerings, but this is outrageous. I'd even consider wearing shades if I was cool enough to wear them indoors!!!

The Charity shops are awash with those 75w energy saving bulbs that the Energy companies sent to their customers as a cheap way of getting round the Governments Green Energy requirements - they can't give them away!

Anything 100W+ is now illegal to sell...or so I heard.

I've got three, one doesn't fit my standard fittings, and all my bulbs are LE anyway, so it'll be a while before I need them! Mind you, some of my bulbs are getting on for 8 years old, not bad!

When we bought out house in 1993 we did a lot of renovation work.
We still have at least one original bulb that came with the house as it has the plaster splashes on it from the renovation.

We hope to get at least quarter of a century of use from it
