HI All

Firstly I hope that I have listed this in the correct forum, if not could an admin person please move it.

My girlfriend and I are moving to the country in a month or so, it is also her 30th Birthday and I may like to get her a nice pretty bike for cycling around the countryside. We won't be cycling far and the look of the bike will probably go down better with her than the ride of the bike, bell, chain guard and wicker basket are a necessity haha, although it must be quite comfy to ride and have at least 3 gears.

We keep seeing these bikes on days out and she keeps saying OOH I WANT ONE, problem is I have already spent loads on her so I would say £200 would be MAX, so I have had a shop about and all the really pretty ones such as the ones below seem to be around £600 but does anyone know of anywhere that sells nice ones a bit cheaper? I know decathlon sell cheap bikes but they don't really have anything suitable, also would rather not buy 2nd hand as I want it to be sparkling new for her and know it will last.

Any suggestions would be brilliant, Thanks a lot in advance!

where in the country are you moving? they're both lovely looking but could be big beasts to drag up a hill and be more suited to city riding.

The mudguards will be appreciated though :biggrin::biggrin:

A Pashley would be what you're after, although you'd have to go second hand with that budget.

Halfords do a rip off 'tribute' that would be in your price range. Think they're called 'Real Classic'

two hundred measly quid! Do you love this woman or not????

Get her a Pashley. And a Spesh Ruby Pro. And think yourself lucky that she puts up with you.......

At sub £200 she may be a WSO

Second hand or a decathlon elops bike though I'm dubious that they look pretty. Mind you at that price forget tasteful colours and start thinking proper womens colours such as lilac or pink

Hmmm I may have to consult my lawyer as this thread has resulted in me looking at pictures of Pashley Poppies which may have damaged my eyesight xx(

I think is really sweet of you to actually take notice of what she says she likes and buying it! Although I feel you have ulterior motifs of getting her 'hooked' to cycling so that
1* she doesnt resent you spending your spare time/week ends cycling
2*she wont moan at you for spend so much money on cycling equipment (as she will eventually over take on that)
3*maybe she will start riding with you!!

Im sure she will be pleased with whatever NEW bike you get her. This one seems pretty to me Dawes Duchess  a little over budget but im sure she is worth it!
