I tried one out on holiday recently, I was very impressed with it.Now I want one of my own. I want one that is solid, reliable, preferably under a 1000.00 Pounds and looks great! I have been told that anything under a grand will have a cheap inferior battery and motor made in China. However, I came across this during my research. Pro Rider - E-Voyager Electric Mountain Bike. At only £649.99 it is well under my budget and looks good to boot, not only that, an email from them told me that the battery and motor are German! And are a high build standard. Has anyone had one of these bikes? Or tried one? Or even know someone who has one? Are they as good as they and the reviews say they are? Your advice would be welcome.

I have an electric Pedelec as well as a mountain bike which I love, but I have to say that I tend to use my Pedelec more often, as I live on the Isle of Wight, and it is often windy, and do not enjoy battling against very strong winds on my mountain bike, so in these conditions I always use my electric, when I first got the electric, I lost half a stone in four weeks, because I always tend to go out regardless of how strong the wind is, I also use it for most general short trips to the supermarket and I have panniers on it.
Mine was under £1000 from a local company and they are very good!

I'd recommend going to the Bike Show at the NEC in a couple of weeks. You will find enough electric bicycles and differing views to keep you occupied for the whole day. And you can get to ride some of them on a test track.

My workmate has a couple of these by a company called Wisper (905 city IIRC)

It is much stronger than another workmates Raleigh pedelec, and looks just like a flat barred commuter bike.
