i had a very low speed off last weekend (trying to get round too tight a 180 bend on the pedestrian ramps up to a footbridge). A mile down the road, I discovered that one of the rear brake pads was missing. I have V brakes with slot in pads.
In the confusion of the incident, it is perfectly possible that I rolled the rear wheel backwards with the brake applied, which would push out the pad - if the retaining spring clip was not in place. Do those retaining clips have any track record of coming out? Must I not have put it in properly in the first place? Does the panel have any other explanation?
