So today I went home a new way cos I wanted to pick something up from a shop. This being central London in rush hour, it involved a fair amount of finding myself in lanes that when the traffic moved turned out to be left filters when I wanted to go straight on, getting trapped behind buses at lights, long lines of cars playing parking-or-pausing on narrow roads, bus dancing and general false starts and changes of direction.

Not a single car, van or bus tried to crowd me, and even the driver I messed around at the lights let me back into the lane with a smile.

Yay for all the nice drivers in the world

Exactly, always nice when you get a pleasant commute home, And motons can make or break a commute.

Was a bit like that for me tonight. Not exactly heavy traffic but they all overtook me with loads of room. One car even held back on overtaking me while I passed a car parked slightly further out than normal (Then again I was touching about 27mph and dodging a manhole cover too at the time).

There usually are lots of nice drivers. Even most of the ones that have us muttering under our breaths aren't trying to be horrible, they probably just don't realise our needs.

Good on you for posting this - it's too easy for me to post about the bad eggs and forget about all the lovely drivers.

I have had a few nice drivers and peds lately; it makes the whole commute that bit better.

The driver coming towards me that started to overtake a parked car and then stopped and apologised when he saw me approach (plenty of room for both of us to get through).

The ped that stopped, smiled and waved (cheered) me through a zebra crossing as I was going up hill.

My colleague who told me that I was going ‘very’ fast, and that he knew it was me because my lights stood out.

The ped who ran to get his dog and thanked me for a ‘good shout’ when I approached him on a shared path.
