Lucky escape today

Coming in today I heard the normal rubbing sound the signifies I have knocked the mudguard putting in the back of the car and it is rubbing against the tyre.

When I stopped I found a screw sticking out of the holes in the mudguard , trapped in the space between the tyre and the guard with the head against the tyre! I still can't figure out how it got there as I had to take the wheel off to get the thing out

There's a mad tyre-puncturer on the loose in Edinburgh at the mo; he or she might be to blame !

Workmate yesterday got a flat rear on the way in from Fife, which turned out to be a drawing pin. On getting to work, he then noticed 5 more studded into his front tyre (but which hadn't started to deflate the wheel by that point).
