I'm definitely a cyclist, I looked at the bike before I looked at the girl  Whats the point of this? Is the dress lycra? Or are you saying the girl should be wearing lycra? I think she looks fine in the dress.

I don't have to flirt, I have a wife, and she likes me in lycra (and certainly wouldn't want me to be a gentleman about it).

Wasn't the blog linked to the image plugged last year by some aloof oaf who took his bat home when his comments were derided?

Okay it seems my point did not arrive.
The point I was trying to make was that if cyclists have managed to do without lycra for over a hundred years when out and about why do we spend so much money on it now.
I have some but it doesn't suit me. Does it actually suit anyone? After all we used to cycle in trousers, skirts, shirts, blouses, flat caps, bowler hats, bonnets, headscarves and jackets didn't we?
Albeit not all worn at the same time.

So waterproof breathable jackets aside do we really need to spend all our money on this lycra and the like?

Other point is did the photos come out? I can't see them on my computer all I'm getting is gobbledygook.

me too.

To answer your real point though.....
Technology has moved on, in bikes, in cars, in clothing. Sure, none of us NEED lycra, but then you could say none of us NEED syncromesh gearboxes in our cars, it just happens to be more efficient, practical (and comfortable in case of lycra IMO) and I for one don't care if my kids burst into fits of giggles when they see me dressed up.

So apart from the aqueducts, sanitation and stable governance, what have the Romans ever done for us?
