I liked the Brompton bit but found the whole show quite depressing despite the fact that it was obviously aiming for an upbeat positive vibe. It couldn't disguise certain plain facts and the numbers don't stack up. It came across as a feel good advert for corporate globalisation and neo liberalism, singing the positives and skimming, or ignoring completely, the negatives.
I found it laughable that the 'protection' for our high end and niche manufacturing was the fact it was made in London/UK. Though it acknowledged that our manufacturing sector employs far less people it didn't really cover what they all do now. Some woolly reference to the service sector and an anecdotal style claim that all the ex suit factory people were now happily employed elsewhere.
The way he was spinning it I half expected a line about not being able to make an omelette without cracking an egg.
