We're looking at moving to Maidenhead later this year and are trying to find somewhere to live not too far from the centre / not too hard to get from the centre.

The problem is, I've only spent 4 hours there so have little idea about where the nice areas and dodgey areas are, who's good to speak to about renting etc.

any advice is appreciated.

'lilolee' who has recently joined the forum, is a resident. I met him for the first time last Friday as we were riding Westwards, and he is very 'tuned in' to the local area - ask him! He's a very nice guy, easy to chat with, and probably the ideal would be to get yourself there and ride out with him to investigate... 'Norm' is another who may be able to help...

Indeed, I've lived in the Royal Borough since Noah was kicking some animals off a boat.

When you say not too far from the centre, is that on foot or by bike? There's nowhere which is more than 2 miles from the middle of town, so you'll be within 10 minutes cycling wherever you are. And, by centre, do you mean train station or shops? Although they are only about 500m apart.

What sort of property? Size? Rent / buy? Number of people? Flat, house, apartment... etc.

More questions than answers, I'm afraid.

Nice. Easy access to the middle of town and straight up through Pinkneys Green into some lovely riding areas.

St Marks area is a nice area. Good chippie but so so Chinese, 10 minute walk to town and it is usually on my route out of town for my rides north.
