Hi I am new to the forum and just getting back into cycling................so much has changed in the last 10 years or so!!!!!

I am looking for a removal tool to fit a Mailard screw on freewheel. This is much bigger than the atom one, 30mm in diameter I believe. Does anyone have any idea where I can get my hands on one or do any of you have one for sale?

Looking forward to your replies!

SJS Cycles list one. Look Here

I take it that your Mailard with one "l" is a typo. Maillard with two "l's" comes up with several results on a search.

It wasn't even a typo it was just blatant bad spelling!

Unfortunatelly that's not the one, the one I have has approx 20 splines. I'll try to post a pic of the freewheel when I get home as I'm at work at the moment. Everyone around my area scratches their head and say's I haven't seen on of those for about 20 years lol.

Tha Maillard one ive got isnt like the one in your link Chilly...mines got loads of splines on it.
Ironic, loads of old cheap Raleigh 5 speed racers have these maillard freewheels on them...i 've had two do'er uppers in the last 6 months with them on.

It might be a Helicomatic freewheel.
lots of splines on the outside edge of a thin lockring, approx 30mm dia., with the freewheel body just sliding off helical splines on the hub.

This.

A mole grip will do at a push if you can't track down the original lockring tool.

I once had a freewheel with a non-standard splined fitting that I couldn't source a removal tool for. In the end I used a length of square steel machined to fit snuggly between the splines in place of the proper tool.
