I keep getting a message from Microsoftexchange,telling me my mailbox is almost full,it says I have used 458 of 475MB.I have emptied the deleted file in outlook expresss & gone through the other files,but it seems to make no difference.Any ideas?

All messages in all your folders go towards the total. Sent items should be flushed aswell.
Another trick is to list your emails in size order. You will be suprised how many are 2,3,4 or 5mb in size.
Better to strip those attachments out and save them in "my documents"

I used to keep practically every message I received. I lost a computer due to drive failure with all of my messages. After buying a new computer I realised I didn't actually miss any of those messages so now the only messages I save are receipts for online shopping, and then only for a short while as I have the order recorded on the seller's website anyway! The rest are deleted on reading, after a day, after a week, or after I receive a reply. My mail store is practically empty.

I get a lot of drawings & pictures sent to me.I have deleted a lot of the sent items,how do I check how much memory I am using in OE now?Thanks for all the help.
 
where is the exchange server installed and running that you are connecting to ?
Do you have the account set to delete the mail on server after download or delete when deleted or is it set
to leave a copy on the server ?

Thanks Ian,but that doesn't mean a lot to me.I have to delete the mails from my PC manually,not sure what a server is.I have a BT account,with 2 pc's connected for Internet & e mail accounts.
 
Just wondering why it's a Microsoft exchange warning as the minimum mailbox size for
outlook express is 2gb. Is this a pop up box or an email?
In outlook express select tools -> accounts , then for each mail account listed click on it and
select properties then click the advanced tab and check the delivery option at the bottom.
If only leave a copy on the mail server is ticked then change it to any other combination as otherwise
you have to login to your webmail page to clear the inbox on the server.
