This may be a bit ambitious but I'm hoping to be ready to make this trip in 2015. I'll probably start in April with a cheap (??) flight to Malaga. My intention then would be to take a route which will include visits to friends in Granada, Barcelona, Beziers, Nantes, Lessay in Normandy, Hampshire, Bristol, Liverpool, Carlisle, Glasgow and home in Paisley. So that's up the Mediterranean cost of Spain into southern France and join the Canal du Midi at Beziers to Bordeaux. West coast of France to Nantes then north to Normandy. Once across the Channel from Cherbourg I'll have the option of catching a train if I'm totally knackered but I'd rather not. I've done some cycle camping before on a London to Paris ride with a friend a couple of years ago and I've done a week away using B&B's in Holland and Belgium a couple of times and the Canal du Midi in 2012 with my wife. I'm planning to do a bit more of the camping around Scotland this year as preparation, getting used to hauling the gear and minimising my load. I've been reading extensively about touring by bike and don't think I'm missing much. However, if anyone has any advice, particularly in relation to my proposed route, it would be most welcome.
