Does anyone know of a website which shows, and allows you to include in your route, tow-paths, bridleways and similar routes.

I like using Googlemaps but it doesn't show pedestrian bridges, canal paths, etc. Maybe I'm being dim and just don't know how to do it???

An example is a footbridge at the end of my road - Google doesn't show it and routes me a half mile alternative! Any sites you know that can get round things similar to this?

Thank you.

Sustrans might be a place to start.

I have Track Logs - a few years old now but superb. It is the OS mapping. I bought the 1:50k version for the whole of England but you can also get 1:25k and you can buy much smaller areas such as a 50km square round your house.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

Bikehike, for sure. You get both google map and OS map side by side, and can choose which to use for your route. On the google map you can do all the clever follow roads stuff every other site has. Bikehike also has the best set of elevation displays of any of the sites (both elevation and gradient) and is refreshingly uncommercial. It's also darned speedy.

This site is brilliant, planned a 24 mile route today using this site, saved the gpx file, converted the gpx file using GPS Babel so it was compatible with my Garmin etrex and off I went, didn't have to constantly stop and consult OS map - will definitely use again:smile:
