In the news.... there has been an action in court against Mastercard which resulted in the claimant(s) winning. News (including BBC) suggests anyone can claim if they bought from a business which used Mastercard, and no proof of purchase is required. No holding of a Mastercard is required, the reason being the businesses were passing on operating costs to all customers, so even those using cash. At present the 'compo' is about £70 per person who registers, but will reduce if numbers increase. It all sounds dodgy to me - Is it a way of scammers 'harvesting' peoples's bank details?
