Fast and careful!
You either get the ideas of the food that master chef proffesional is delivering or not, textures intense flavours, different ingredients, they will even have a show with left overs and cheap food and they will deliver plates of interesting food, it's not for every one and the same as matching wines to food , I hold a wine matching event every month and it's a sell out, 7 courses matched with wines , for 45 diners again not every ones idea of a good night ,and I still get to go to the harvester with my boys

I'm told that some people don't find bikes or cycling remotely interesting either.

Cracking a solo.
I'd certainly eat all the expensive stuff if someone else was paying

But I think shows like Masterwotsit encourage a huge amount of BS (compare the guff that gets written about wine, whisky and beer...ooh, I'm getting petrol, with chestnut undertones and a palate of plums) and also calls out to small-willied men who need to prove themselves and channel their testosterone somewhere.
Would you mind my asking why you wrote this? I assume you know the programs proper name (It's in the thread title after all) and what you typed is also two letters longer, so it wouldn't have saved time.
I did a little google for "Masterwotsit" and one of the images that came up is below, this something entirely different to the program under discussion and I suggest probably needs it's own internet never mind thread.

I was converted in January this year. See my post here - http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/masterchef-and-fancy-restaurants.145026/#post-2806675

"What an absolutely fantastic experience^_^

The food was astonishingly good and the service outstanding.

I can't begin to describe the food, but everything from nettle soup to chicken muesli to rice pudding was on the taster menu!

The real revelation for me was the drinks - we had the 'set drinks menu', where each course was accompanied by an appropriate wine. The sommelier explained why each wine had been chosen and a bit about it. I've gone from a bottle of house red man to a wannabe wine buff overnight!

In summary a fantastic experience. Ridiculously expensive, but as a very occasional treat well worth it. 100% recommended:thumbsup:"

Nearly a year on I still recall the meal and I don't regret 'doing' the experience at all.

When I was off work recently I developed a curious addiction to Australian Masterchef. It's miles removed from the fairly staid British version and absolutely hilarious. One of the judges is extremely excitable and when he really likes something he describes it as 'SUPER YUMMY!'
