I have only ever seen one in real life, when I was working down south, it was on a busy path heading towards a busy A road which would only mean one outcome, so against the rules I picked the fella up and carried him over the road to the woodland on the other side of the road, are these still an endangered species.

I've seen a couple, one in my garden once, another just out in a wood.

If stag beetles go extinct in 100 years time due to an inbuilt genetic tendency to walk onto busy roads we will all know who to blame.
