We have an area at the allotments that is left alone as stag beetles have made it their home . Im not a great fan of them but its nice to know they are still around .

haven't seen one of these in years and years and years.............

Back in my running days, in the 1980's, I used to see a lot of those on the Mary Peters Track whilst doing interval sessions. My mates always laughed at me because I would always stop to lift them from the track to the grass.

I never knew! I found it in the garden (2008, according to date I gave to the photo). It was dead, so I called it John Lennon (dead beetle). The photo is one of my collection of dead animal photos, which I have never made public
