The shame that was having gola trainers!!
We couldn't even afford gola!
I "lost" my trainers and didn't do pe for a whole term through embarrassment

I had some cheap Dunlop boots bought by mum and dad, they must have weighed a kilo each when wet!
I then got a paper round and bought my own Patrick boots and then feeling flush after pea picking in the school holidays I bought a pair of Adidas Beckenbauer, they were the bees knees!

in the 80's I wore Patrick, Gola, Arrow, then I wore Mitre in the early 90's always 6 stud but then got a pair of adidas predator bladed studs and since then wore adidas moulded studded boots.
when I was young it was price, the cheaper the better but the studs used to come through and my feet were always sore during the season.
Hold on hold on! Are you trying to say you were a pro' footballer or summat?^_^

even when I went for trials in England in 1985-86, I only had cheap boots, I might have been wearing Patrick but its not the boots that make the player, something you'd not understand but when I was paid to play but not professional thats when I eventually had the adidas predator but I was 23-24 but they weren't a cheap boot don't think there was much change from £100.
You were doing ok till you got to the bit i've highlighted.
