Well I have had my first road bike the Merida Ride 93 carbon for just over 2 months, and really love cycling! I was really unfit for a 27yr old, but my fitness has come better, and lost of few pounds and back I to my 32inch jeans!

Anyway, here are a few pictures in order of when I first bought it, and a few changes have been made, Helo tape in prone stonechipping area. played with seat angle and height, and the hoods, stem and spacers, I like how I am on the bike and feel pretty low but comfortable, I fitted some Schwalbe Ultremo ZX tyres around 1.5 months ago, and they made a big difference compared to the standard fitment tyres.

This week I bought some Campagnolo Scirocco 35 wheelset, and couldn't really feel in the hand the weight saved compared to the Alexrims Race 24 with Tiagra hubs that came with the bike, but on the road there is a big improvement, can cruise at a higher speed easier and longer. And somebody who I ride with commented. Also the amount of cleaning I do on it, I think helps shave paint thickness!

Thanks
Luke

It's a lovely bike (I wouldn't normally say that about the colour scheme here but I've looked at it a couple of times now and it's really grown on me!). Not too sure about the look of the wheelset but hey...I bet she rides like and dream and gives you many hours of joy...what's not to like about that!

Thanks

I guess the wheelset isn't to everybody's, but they look nicer in the carbon, look brighter and shines in the light. I am happy with the bike, I love to ride, park, drink tea and cake and look at the bike and the location I am in, isn't that what it's all about?

Looking forwards to tomorrow bright sunny day! Hopefully a 40 mile

Wow 80mm carbons  How do you find them for day to day use ? Always wanted to give some a try just to see what they are about .

I really like that colour scheme.

I clean all my bikes with only rain water and car polish. I dont get rust on my bikes, except Jannies Winter bike, which is a heap of junk that works perfectly well.

I find the polish protects the bikes and provides that aerodynamic effect, which is very important on a Koga World Traveller which is the weight of a moped :0)

Thanks guys.

I only fitted the wheelset last night, today I shall find out. They will be only used on good days, I have some Campag Scirocco to use too.

I thought about black bar tape, but wasn't sure?

I use car products on the bike to. Between, Auto finesse, AG, Collinite and Zymol.

I keep the whole bike clean, maybe alittle anal but for me, it's cycling, drinking tea and cake, looking at the bike and more cycling. So has to look it's best!

It is. Nice too hear others look after there bike to.
I had some Supernatural but somebody left the line off my wax, and dried out.

I have a few light swirl marks on the black under the torch, so maybe in spring, I might machine the bike

How are removing spacers an upgrade?

Lovely bike. Iffy looking wheels but function is always more important than form.
