Met a new commuter this morning

Said hello to a guy at the lights on a new Spesh Allez.

A bit of small talk about how it was less icy today than yesterday, and he explained this was his first 'commute' on his bike...... 'ohh thought it looked new' was my reply.

At this point I thought it wise to mention that he better ditch the 'white' rear flasher for a RED one...... he explained that he'd been last minute and hadn't got one, but was going to get it sorted.

I 'exagerated the truth' in that he could get 'pulled' for a white rear light... he accepted that fine. I said the police are fine so long as it's red back, white front............

Didn't mention that they are unlikely to pull you given the number of ninjas about !!!

Parted with a 'see you later'..........

Yep quite unlikely, but it could make him think..

I rode up and overtook a guy on the bridge this morning, his coat was covering his light so I gave him a heads up. Was very foggy this morning so its wise to have that light uncovered.

Have only seen a couple of ninjas this week - worryingly have seen a few cars being driven with lights off in the dark or in dark AND fog this week. WTF are they thinking..?

Not seen many ninjas but have seen stupidity in huge amounts, people on wrong side of road, round roundabouts the wrong way etc
