I heard that too - the thing is why did it take it so long to release the information?

No chance......anybody tried to get out of Harlow or have they improved it now?

I heard they removed the road signage during the war.

MI5 was sceptical about the authenticity of these instructions because it could not trace their source in German publications.

However, the agency still collected dozens of reports of groups of uniformed Hitler Youth who toured Britain before the outbreak of World War II

Not quite MI5 "hunting spy Nazi cyclists" more like a newspaper trying to create a story.

It was however the rag the Daily Herald now defunct that published an article stating,

MI5 concerns that German cyclists were carrying out covert spying operations in Britain appear to originate from a May 1937 article in the now-defunct Daily Herald newspaper.
Under the headline "Nazis must be spyclists", it warned that the Nazi Cyclists Association had issued orders to its members who were spending holidays abroad, in which it encouraged them to memorise the locations of landmarks, the construction of bridges and the width of streams.

But the over all effect of the BBC digging up this article is to yet again portray cycling in a negative context.

I remember some bloke getting pulled up by a detective at Virginia Water due to the fact he was taking pictures of the railway. No word of a lie.

People with SLRs and digital compacts get stopped all the time under "terror laws". Its even been ruled illegal by the Euro courts and they've asked UK Police to stop it. Fat chance.

Would hate to be a photo journo as they get it the worst.
