Bought a box of Mince Pies at Sainsbury's earlier last week, only £1 for six.
Just finished the last one, had it at teatime.
Anybody else eating Mince Pies yet?

Who mentioned Mince Pies? It's not even October and Xmas food already.

They are forbidden in our house until Xmas Eve, absolute manace to the waistline of this finely tuned athelete.............

Nope.. not mince pies just yet! I made a lovely lemon drizzle and a victoria sponge for McMillan Coffee Morning on Friday and that's me done baking for the week! If the OH wants a mince pie, Saintsbury is right around the corner... :cursing:

They are available all year round by popular demand. I have abstained from all pie eating since last Christmas apart from momentary lapses when passing through Boroughbridge or Bedale on my bike on the way to Darlington. I'm unlikely to succumb to mince pies this year - not when there's gala pie to be had.

I think Mince Pies only taste nice at Christmas time; the rest of the year they just don't taste the same. Christmas officially starts when I hear Fairy tale of New York by The Pogues on the wireless for the first time.
