Our grandkids stayed with us at the weekend and on a car drive, they started playing "Mini Cheddar". Never heard of it before, but quite addictive.

anybody else played it or similar?

Will let you know what it is if nobody guesses tomorrow.

I haven't played for very many years but "pub cricket" and "cow cricket" filled many a long journey when I was a child.

My own children played both along with mini cheddar and counting bridges, which isn't really a game.

Pub cricket was a huge favourite in my childhood but didn't hold the same attraction for my kids. 50 years ago journeys involved nothing but roads today's journeys are probably 90% motorway making the game almost impossible to play.

I think you've guessed it.

When you see a Mini (Call Mini), the first person to shout gets a point
When you see a Yellow car (Call Chedder), you get a point, but when you see a Yellow Mini, you shout "Mini Cheddar" and you get 100 points.

I can't stop calling out to myself, whenever I see one!

When we were kids, we played a similar game, but with Letter Boxes and Telephones.

I play "Red lorry, yellow lorry", but I've never seen enough of them in an alternate order to really test myself.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
When my brother-in-law was giving me a lift to Brighton to watch the Tour de France stage finish there in 1994, he started doing something very odd ...

Every now and then he'd shout out "Eddie Stobart 1" ... "Norbert Dentressangle 1" ... "Norbert Dentressangle 2" ... "Norbert Dentressangle 3" ... "Ooh, and making a late come-back - Eddie Stobart 2" and so on ...

I thought he was losing his marbles until he explained that it was a game he played to kill the boredom of long motorway drives! (They are haulage companies with lots of HGVs driving about the country. He was keeping 'score' of sightings.)

Our house is not as cultured I'm afraid. First to spot a yellow car has free range to shout 'yellow car' and give a swift skelp. I blame the parents
