I eventually presume my Edge 500 will die one day, I have had it for coming up to 3 years now which is why I am plotting up a suitable replacement that wont cost an arm or a leg.

I've used a Mio Cyclo 100 after winning it in a competition ... the device itself is good, although the GPS failed on mine after 7 short (10 mile) rides [probably just unlucky]. It was promply replaced by Mio though, so in my experience their customer service is pretty good.

The MioShare software that you have to use is web based, and in my view is very buggy and not actually that useful. I believe with the Mio 300 that it shows up in Windows Explorer (like a USB drive) so you may be able to get your activity files off it without having to use MioShare so could use something like GarminConnect to analyse your rides instead (it's free).

I have a Mio Cyclo 305 HC,been using it for about 8 Months.

I was a bit dissappointed with the MioShare software and Website, although I have been told that it has recently been improved. Thanks to a member on here it was suggested that I just upload my GPX file to Strava instead, and I prefer that option.

I have a very bad sense of direction and I wanted a device that apart from recording my Ride data, I could use to get me to places and get me back Home again. One of the many options on the device is the Suprise Me setting. You input the distance you want to ride, either A to B or a loop and it generates 3 suggested routes to use.I have not really used this feature to it's fullest yet but one thing it does do where possible is keep you off Busy roads.

It also points out Cycling related POI's

Mio state 12 hours running for the Battery, but when I completed my first Sportive of 85 Miles in about 6 hours the battery was all but flat. I E-Mailed them and they suggested turning the screen brightness down and not displaying the Map/Compass. I only had it set at about 30% and since then it's now off,and it lasts much longer and the screen is still visible.

You can set the display to show as little as 2 boxes of information or as many as 8.

I snapped part of the locking mechanism on the back of the device and to their credit they replaced the damaged part and got it back to me with 2 days. And they also updated the software too.
