I have a very old mbk road bike with some really nice old mavic wheels. The only problem is the rear wheel points to the left hand chain stay. Anyone have any ideas? I dropped the wheel into an old peugeot and it was straight. In the mbk it is crooked. If I put the wheel in the other way it points to the right hand side. Thanks everyone

Have you tried dropping another rear wheel into the drop outs to see if the wheels sits/spins true? This is only a guess, but maybe one of the dropouts has taken a whack, is bent and has slightly bent the axle of the your wheel.

Wheels often don't sit straight if just placed into the rear stays. Loosen the wheel, push it as far back into the stay as it will go, then adjust it so it is centred and tighten.

The wheel should sit straight unless the axle is bent, the rear end is out of true or the drop outs are are damaged.
