With revelations this morning outlining the very dubious practices of Alberto Salazar and allegations that he emailed Lance Armstrong boasting just how good these shots he was giving were and offering them to the Texan, how do we now feel about this situation? Is the Salazar-Farah link any less suspicious than the Ferrari-Armstrong link?

Me, I made up my mind some time ago on this dodgy situation but would like to hear the views from those on here. Over to you good people.

I think a lot of sportsman / woman do dabble a bit to help them no matter what they say

As for Farah and how far who knows only he or his coach really know

If Mo has ' i doubt it knowingly ' it will be as big a shock to him as most of us.
if his coach has been doing it on the sly i hope sense prevails..

If you look at the Wiggins case it looks like even 'clean' athletes are pushing the boundaries of the regulations to gain an advantage.

As @Jimidh points out, athletes are pushing the boundaries and there are grey areas where what is acceptable, (or rather not legislated against ... yet) and unacceptable.

This in itself is an issue. If athlete a wins whilst using a substance that is later declared illegal, where does the performance stand?

Speculation may inform in that it raises suspicion and this may result in investigation, but as always the only way to establish this will be with positive and incontrovertible proof..... whichever way that leads the verdict

I have my suspicions. He must be extremely unlucky to have picked training partners and coaches who've all been fingered or are under suspicion and we know that Kenya and other African countries where he trains have an excellent anti-doping regime.

I don't like the guilt by association thing but when there's a lot of associations it's difficult not to form a negative view.

Innocent until proven guilty for me. I will admit to being extremely disillusioned by sport as a whole if he is ever found wanting.
