I'll definitely be paying tax on it but it certainly won't make me worse off!
The only thing I can suggest is that if your annual income is somewhere around the 40% threshold and you have a (non-final salary) pension scheme where you can decide the amount that you draw down each year, you can try to keep your total income below the rate at which you pay 40% tax. But yep, you won't be worse off in any event.
