I've perforated my right ear drum about 12 times now. I have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, complicated by a deviated septum. Whenever I get a bad cold I tend to end up with an ear infection which can go from no problem to perforation in a matter of hours.

The ENT surgeon has said that the next perforation will mean getting by ear drum 'patched'. They basically stick an adhesive patch on, similar to repairing an inner tube.

The blood and pus coming out of my ear when it perforates can be quite spectacular...
Oh yuck! That's horrid. I remember my little one being in so much pain and needing antibiotics
