... was Bradley Wiggins using yesterday evening when he was in collision with a Vauxhall Astra?

Here for rides.
Doesn't matter what lights he was using or even if he was using none at all. If they aren't looking they wouldn't see him.

The reports I have heard seem to suggest a woman pulled out of a petrol station onto the road which Wiggo was riding on and hit him. Junctions, exits of petrol stations and similar are common place for near misses for cyclists in times of great visibility let alone when visibility was low. Under such situations when pulling out many drivers only look for larger vehicles and do not even look for cyclists, and motor cycles.
Im not sure a high vis vest with ... "I am wiggo, ace frickin cyclist, TDF winner - Please give me room, because I have enough cash to sue you for loss of earnings" ..... would even help in many of these situations.

The incident is thought to have happened after the driver of the vehicle pulled out of a petrol station.
Garage attendant Yasmin Smith, who saw Wiggins shortly after he was knocked over, told BBC Sport: "I was in the office and I heard a screeching of tyres and a bang.

But Mr Wiggins (I don't feel privelidged enough to call him Bradley) is the golden child of cycling... Doesn't the sun shine out of his backside?

If seriousness, if it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone. Hope he get's well soon. Wonder if the driver tried the "I didn't see you line" .

That woman is going to feel (rightly) awful, she's injured a national treasure... I'm glad he's ok and hope he recovers 100% asap.

Maybe in a weird way, this will again highlight the problems faced by cyclists and I'm sure Wiggo will be even more vocal about cycle safety than ever.
