Moss on my roof.......

Any ideas how I can get rid of it??
Because the damn birdies keep pecking huge chunks off, throwing them onto the conservitory roof, they then sliiiiide down the glass roof-panels, drop onto the patio enn masse, and the dogs bring them in and shred them all over the carpet in front of the fire thinking its great fun. Its like some twisted game of mousetrap out there.
I have hoovered four times today already

When I worked on council houses we had to get on the roof and scrape it off. IIRC copper strips can be fitted to poison the moss, but then you get green stains on the roof. There's probably some sort of toxic stuff you could paint on there. Worth keeping an eye on the guttering, which is probably filling up with crap

Moss needs something to grow on.

First clean the roof - Conventional hose with a jet spray will do and yard broom will do, you just need to remove as much as possible.
Then a watering can filed with diluted bleach will kill off anything growing.

You need to remove the source of the fertaliser on the roof which is usually overhanging trees or bird poo.

(And as other have said, watch your gutters, they will need cleaning, the hose and jet with the a stiff brush will do it)
