Normally about now I am thinking of going to get changed for my ride home, desperate to get out of the office and looking forward to a relaxing run home.

However it is tipping it down outside and the trees are being blown sideways so my motivation is not the greatest :becool: to the extent I am trying to think of something that "has" to be done today to put off the moment!! Anyone else like this today??

You find when you are out there fighting the elements that it's not that bad,at least I dont.

No commute today as I just done six of the buggers.Day off.

I feel your pain, mainly because I'm looking out of the window and questioning the logic that had me leaving my jacket and my gillet at home today!

Motivation doesn't come into it for me - my exhaust has fallen off my car, and even if it hadn't I can't afford to put petrol in it at the moment :becool:

Wife has my car anyway, as she had a 'minor' bump in hers...that's off for repair.

Just slap on the waterproofs and trundle past all those stationery cars - you'll soon cheer up. Anyway, I'd have thought 'home time' was motivation enough.....

im struggling for motivation too, the trees are bent sideways here, rain is threatening, and ive yet to go to work...nights......doh, but come 9 15 whatever is happening in the footy tonight it will be leggings on and once more into the breach.

The weather in Edinburgh was awful so I understand your dilemma marooncat. The only good thing because the weathers cr@p the streets are grid locked and it so nice IMO to go flying past traffic.

Depends on which way you are going, you might get lucky and have the wind behind you. IF it is a head wind, select a lower gear and look at it as resistance training, it will help you to get faster in the long run...

It is now official - I am mad... When I am cycling into a head wind over the brow of a hill and almost getting blown backwards, and thinking "I'm enjoying this" then I surely need to be carted off to a nice padded room somewhere

I basically go east on my route home so had the head wind most of the way so tried not to look at the speed on the computer and instead watch the cadance and keep that at a decent level, no mater what the speed/gear was.

Then at the end just to confirm my insanity I did the 1.5 mile extra loop at the end of my journey, with half that into the head wind on an open field just so I could have the last bit home with the tail wind to enjoy that

I knew you would
