I am thinking of moving on from SPD's. The shoes I have are also compatible with Look cleats. So question is this : Are Look pedals as good or better than SPD-SL's?

Your shoes will have 3 holes in a triangular formation.

These take all Shimano spd-sl,Look and Time cleats.

Look pedals are generally as good as Shimano spd-sl's but there are many different pedals. My advice would be to look at Look Keos (not the Keo Easy model).

Ideally you want some with a bit of float.

Fixed cleats are great for short distance work but it helps to relax the foot and some people hold thatfloat helps the knee.

You want Grey Keo cleats in that case - make sure you specify Keo cleats as the Look Arc cleats won't fit Keo pedals.

I thought it had already been covered in other threads that both sorts have their pros and cons but theres not enough difference in performance to make it worth changing ?
If you're road racing then there is enough difference that a road style cleat would be beneficial.

Otherwise it's best just to choose the system that fits in better around your circumstances. i.e. got a long way to walk when commuting at either end, get recessed cleats with SPD.

After 100 mile I get hot spots. I have heard that the broader cleats help to eliminate this. If I am wrong then I will stick with the SPD Road shoes and the A520 pedals.
