fitting mudguards is more tricky than dropping a wheel out. SKS guards for a recommendation. Depending upon frame clearance, you may get away without removing the wheels. My commuter had secific mounts for mudguards so I didn't use a brake bridge bracket, but I had to remove the wheel, so I could bolt the mudguard directly to the frame mounts on the brake and bottom bracket 'bridges'.

Any I've done there's usually a fitting down near the rear of the bottom bracket that you need the wheel off to access.
The supplied hardware for this location is usual inadequate. If there is a threaded eyelet the mudguard should be drilled and bolted. If not then I drill and zip tie.
