Right, I know there is quite a divide between people who do and dont like cycling with music playing but for those of you who do, what do you find good for cycling too?

Personally I like to play allot of meatloaf, very powerful music, nickel back can be good and a few green day tracks get me going to.

So, what do you guys like for cycling to?

Cheers,

Toby

I don't listen to music while cycling but if I did Steve Reich would appear very high on the list. So high that the list might only have Steve Reich on it.

My wife asked me just today why I didn't take my MP3 player on my long rides. (I had, for the 1st time ever, experienced boredom on the bike!) We got to talking about what would be the best music to listen to... and I just could not imagine listening to anything! Nothing at all. I mean, I could put the MP3 on but I know I wouldn't listen to it! It'd just be noise in my ears.

I find music enabled me to feel better about cycling slower, I can happily go around 17mph with music but if I have no music I end up shooting along at 20+ all the time and knackering myself

I like the song from Black eyed peas, Boom Boom Pow or something with low quality headphones, you just hear the best bit and cant hear the stupid bits of it.

hah. I don't wear earphones/use headphones, I've got some mini speakers for cycling but did find that with the right album on I could improve my average by a mile an hour or two ...so the opposite of you! The speakers I had (they broke) were from poundland so not very loud, so motivated me when I was going slow enough to hear the music to pick up again.

As for what I'd pick...HMM! I'd listen to anything, maybe some Prodigy, Peter Gabriel...or eye of the tiger on loop

I want to put all my music on something but it would be expensive to buy a solution for all my 4000 songs that take up around 25GB of space. Music does make me go faster depending on the track, just some tracks are good at making me take it steady, just cruising
