I particularly favour the the Verdi Requiem as something to hum.

Dies Irae for bad drivers; Libera Me for traffic jams; and the various trumpety bits for when I'm whizzing down a hill.

Since telling my girls to use an upbeat tune for fast riding and a slower one for relaxed, I now find myself either singing "Nellie the Elephant" or "Silent Night".

A useful fact about Nelly the Elephant is that it is sung to 15 beats. As the current version of the CPR requires 30 compressions to 2 breaths you can get the speed and count about right if you sing it to yourself twice. You get some funny looks from bystanders though.

The Nelly the Elephant thing was mentioned on my first aid course but we were told NEVER to do it as, sadly it has been hummed while the family of the (nearly) deceased look on in horror.

WW....freaky, I'm putting together some "collective" footage my cycle/commute and immediatley came up with "times like these" accoustic by the foo's as a backing track

Trouble is, I cant find a way to convert it to an audio track that my Movie maker app likes...

PS...I've just checked and I do have video evidence of me singing "Mr Blue Sky" by ELO on one commute (it was a fab Morning)...to embarrassed to post the vid but trust me I was!!

For me it's usually part singing part muttered "Don't stand so close to me" as cars are overtaking me with milimetres to spare... I change "stand" to "drive" though!!!

Fortunately, I have never had to perform CPR yet. However should the need arise my main concern would be on the casualty not the sensibilities of bystanders regardless of thier relationship. I would probably explain why I am doing it and get on with it.
