My beautiful bike is dead

Got back this evening thinking something's a miss with it only to discover a huge crack running across the down tube.


Time to get on to the manufacturers I think.

Catastrophic failure after 2.5 years. I have a nagging doubt the warranty on a De Rosa is a pathetic 2 years. Not looking forward to calling Sigma in the morning, just hope I'm wrong.

The death of a bike is the worst thing.

I had a crack in the frame at Aldgate East a few years ago making hackbike 6 unrideable.

Commisertions mate.

I think they might be a bit worried about their rep if you let them know how it failed.

I also had it with a Dawes Super Galaxy a few years back and I sent it back via Evans.Oh yeah fracture right near the handlebars and a bad one it was.

Even if it's out of warranty, I shall still make a nuisance of myself, as the bike has never taken a tumble. It looks like the fracture started where the gear cable bracket joins the top of the tube. I'll post some photos tomorrow as soon as I remember the password to my flickr account.
